YOUR ROLE
You will work within the imaging division of STMicroelectronics, an organization deployed throughout the world – Europe, USA, Asia – which designs and produces CMOS image sensors, video processors and Photonic sensors.
You will join the quality department, more precisely the Product Quality Assurance team for Automotive products. To achieve your goals, you will be in regular contact with various teams and in daily contact with teams in Grenoble, France.
Your role may vary depending on the project milestones. The different missions you can encounter as Product Quality Engineer are:
During product development:
• Consider customer needs, international standards (AECQ, JEDEC) and ST quality requirements
• Propose and negotiate the product quality plan (bringing together reliability tests, failure analysis strategy, and the production ramp-up control plan).
• In the event of a product failure – during reliability testing or at the customer's premises, you will take leadership of a team of engineers to establish the symptom, identify the physical defect and the root causes. This is in order to implement corrective and preventive actions. In this context, you will apply appropriate problem solving methodology.
• You will represent quality within the project core team and you may be in regular contact with the customer.
During production:
• Be in charge of managing customer returns, coordinating the analysis of samples returned by customers in a manner similar to the development phase.
• Take responsibility for disposing of non-compliant batches, through a risk analysis that can be based on FMEAs, performance analysis, failure analysis, reliability evaluations, in collaboration with representatives of other ST organizations, as well as only in coordination with customers if necessary
• Be aware of changes and if applicable, initiate notification to customer.
This role may require limited contact with customer for all aspects related to product quality. Leadership and flexibility to address various quality topics is key.
